The Handy Mark standard

Ask Mark about any job and you'll hear one word: quality.

It's not a slogan. It's how he works. Straight lines, solid frames and timber that's been set out properly before a single board goes down. The kind of work you notice every time you walk across it.

Planning a deck? Start here.

Get a feel for the size of your job, check how your old deck is holding up, then send Mark the details in one tap.

Deck size & board counter

Pop in the size of the deck you're dreaming of. It works out the area and roughly how many metres of decking boards it takes.

24.0square metres of deck
28rows of boards across
185linear metres of board (incl. 10% offcuts)

A rough guide only. Boards run along the length. Mark measures up on site before quoting, and steps, levels and borders all change the numbers.

Good to know

Questions people ask

Is Mark licensed?

Yes. Mark holds a current carpentry licence and has years in the building trade behind him. Decks, framing and timber work are what he does best.

Is my job too small?

No job too small. A sticking door, a loose handrail or a few rotten deck boards. Send Mark the details and he'll let you know.

Do you oil or stain decks?

No. Mark builds and repairs decks but doesn't do oiling or staining, so you're free to use the finisher you like once the build is done.

Can you repair my old deck instead of replacing it?

Often, yes. If the frame underneath is sound, replacing worn boards, steps or rails can bring it back. If the frame is gone, Mark will tell you straight. Try the deck health check above and send him what you find.

Do you do plumbing or electrical?

No. Mark sticks to carpentry and handyman work. Plumbing and electrical jobs need their own licensed trades.

How do I get a quote?
